comments: Hi Denise & Drew, I want to tell you that you and Drew have helped me change my life in such a dramatic way just by listening to your taped shows on the Steppin Out website. I am 41 years old and I have been using cocaine and alcohol for 17 years. By listening to your show, I have been cocaine free since October 2006 (YEAH!!!). However, I am still struggling with alcohol abuse. I don't drink every day but when I do I go all out and often drive home. I have had a DWI in 2003 and am terrified of another one but I can't seem to stop my 3-4 times a week alcohol binge. I have driven to local AA meeting places but was afraid to get out of the car and go in. Can you give me some advice on how to overcome this? I desperately want to use the momentum from kicking my cocaine addiction to get off of alcohol as well but I can't seem to make the first step to AA. You 2 are truly a bright spot in my life and I would really appreciate hearing from you. Joe S

comments: Hi! I thought I was dreaming this morning at 4-something and heard an AA Speaker on the radio. I initially thought it to be some spin-off from a Dr. Phil-type show. I am so so glad that I didn't turn the station -- I was just in awe at what I heard ; at the quality of the discussion and the program, the principles, being shared on the radio. I honestly did think I was dreaming, as I was up driving around - couldn't sleep - and I was in the process of 'turning over' a situation - while watching the clock to attend my 6:30 meeting in Naperville and the West Suburban Fellowship Club : the greatest show on earth. I thank you from the bottom of my soul. Words I heard helped me this morning - I do pray that this program can be aired such that I can listen to it more frequently. FINALLY! Like a Christmas gift to me - and a great and needed one. With gratitude, Mary B.

comments: I love your show! I'm not an addict, but my mom was (addicted to crack). I never understood her addiction. I even thought of her as a weak person, but after listening to your show, I'm learing to really understand addictions and the people living with them. Please keep up the good work. It really is a rockin' show! Thank you, Michelle

comments: Dear Drew & Denise, Thank you so much for reading my letter on your show regarding my Mom, who was addicted to crack. It is my hope that my letter will help other people living with people with addictions. I am 35 years old now, and my mom has been clean for about 13 years. I'm extremely proud of my mom and I try to let her know everyday that I talk to her. My mom taught me THE MOST VALUABLE LESSON, even she didn't know it. I never tried drugs because I witnessed what it did to her...and I love her for that. She is the strongest, most beautiful person I know! Happy Holidays and all that Jazz!!! PS: I never listen to talk radio...until I heard your show. I'm addicted to your show...and that's a good addiction, right? Thx Michelle Connecticut

comments: I listen to WLS 890 all the time. I'm normally not up when your show is on, but this morning I had to get up unusually early and caught the very tale end of it. There was a gentleman talking about how he had lost everything. They found him dead in a box and actually brought him back to life. He completed the first 9 steps in an extremely short time and has been sober for 13 years. Since I was just waking up when I heard the story, I wasn't able to jot down any details. Is his story recorded or in print anywhere? Thanks you for any help you can offer. And, thank you for being such an available resource. Sincerely, Julie K
